Yesterday, I went over and hung out with the CSS team for a little while, and got invited to a team meeting. Met some more of the people, finally met the boss in person. Looks like a cool team. It's a very nice space - ignore the fact that it's US2 - and there's an available office, nobody in it at the moment, that's quite dark. Perfect for me. Of course, it's big enough they'd probably try to put someone else in it eventually. After that, I had a quick chat with one of the managers in the web services group. Learned a few things. Sounds like an interesting opportunity, but I don't know.
Then I emailed the CSS boss and told him I needed to start making decisions, and didn't want to sit thru three days of interview loops, nor to waste three team-days with it. But that his team was my current preference. We set up a time to chat friday morning; and he wants to skip a full interview loop as well - but mentions he may not get the final say on that and is checking with HR. SO. That's where it's at.
