I finally got Ubuntu installed on the decTOP. Feisty just Won't Work, for installation. It can't cope with an external usb cd drive. Using the flash drive method didn't work with either feisty or dapper. external usb cd install of dapper went fine. BUT, I'm installing the 'server' version, and the kernel wouldn't load. Boot the cd into rescue, install the -386 (instead of -server) kernel, and it's happy as a clam.
I have named this first one Hylonome (pron Hi Low Gnome). Before I install the next one, I'm trying to decide whether to name it Thereus (Theer Ee us), Okyrhoe (Oh Key Row), or Chariklo (Cherr Ick Low). Thoughts?
