Well, I've confirmed that it's the microsd card that's overheating. I tried the card from my phone in the reader and nothing odd happened. Tho, for some reason, my windows box can't mount it. I'll have to try on my powerbook later. Can't read either if I stick them into a microsd->sd adapter and put them in the slot on my monitor. But at least the book card doesn't heat up noticably in that case. edit: oh, yes it can. it's just that plugging in the usb adapter to the front of feige disconnects the external usb hubs. ::P But even plugging the kingston reader into the hubs, it doesn't read either card. Which means it's busted too.

Sigh. Guess I'll call Kingston monday to complain about a bum card.
I'm a bit annoyed, 'cause I put some effort into a few of the files on it, and I didn't have any backups yet. Ah well.
