So, if I recall correctly, my first brokerage account was with Freeman Welwood. something like that. They merged with and became HarrisDirect.
Well, Harris has now merged with ETrade. ok, fine. So, I sign into my shiny new etrade account. This is the first time I've even looked at my brokerage account in over a year. Last I'd checked my portfolio consisted of about a dozen and a half shares of a dozen stocks, and was worth around $400. Well, the good news is that my portfolio is now worth about $844. However, I appear to also have -$45.03 in cash. Someone started charging me fees somewhere, I think. Meh.

My 4 shares of apple are worth something. I don't think the 4 shares of microsoft are ever going to recover (didn't I buy two? did it split or something? the total appears to be worth what I spent per share when I bought them...).

I wonder if I should just sell off the entire portfolio and close the account.
