Now, see, I have a small issue, in that I use a client that lets me a) group all the accounts for a given person into a single contact, so they appear as one, and b) set the name displayed for a contact, so I know who they are and don't have to remember their IM name. As a result, I don't actually /know/ the IM name for most people, and if they start talking to me when my client has screwed up and lost a mapping, or from an account I haven't mapped, or when I'm using another client, then I usually have no clue who they are. This sort of thing, on the other hand...
