More good meetings. Little else accomplished.

Anybody know much about radio transmission of digital data? Specifically encoding text as audio for transmission over cheap handhelds. All the ham software I find is kinda... horrible to use, to say nothing of entirely GUI based and often windows-only. `minimodem` looked good for a while, but we need better modes, in order to get decent speed while handling noise issues. Can't take 8 minutes to transmit a 1kb message. fldigi is the only thing I've really found so far and it is painful to use. Plus what I really want is a command line tool. Preferably one I can run on a raspi or similar.
