Got more done today than expected. Finished the data modeling for the project I was working on. Needs some refinement but I need to do some data sync fixes first. Next cycle.
Went to winco. Managed to use most of the prepaid debit card directv sent me as a refund, which is good because it was otherwise a huge annoyance.
Tomorrow, I hope to install some light switches.

Smart or dumb switches? What sort of automation are you using these days?

Smart. I'm using a Smartthings v2 hub, which supports both zigbee and zwave, which is convenient. At the moment, I've got a smart bulb over the kitchen sink, a motion sensor and a button in the kitchen to control that, a zwave lock on the kitchen door, two rgb smart bulbs in the ceiling of the great hall, a couple of lamps in the great hall - one on a dimmer module, one on a switch module - and two lamps on switch modules in the master bedroom. Oh, and presence sensors in each car, plus everybody's phone acts as a presence sensor as well.

I just got a pair of these in-wall switches, which I'm going to use to replace the master bedroom's overhead light switch and the kitchen's main-light switch. They're fancy switches, in that they can do single-, double-, and triple-tap, and you can program each for different functions. So, double tap up on the bedroom switch and maybe it turns on the bedside lamps too, for example.

Huh, that sounds really cool! I've wanted to play with a number of parts of this, but now I get to experience it vicariously and hopefully find out what works well and what drives you crazy.
