some lego marvel avengers. some minecraft. some Half Way Home (Hugh Howey). Managed to burn a CD that Vanity will boot from, and it's in the process of installing an unsupported version of ubuntu. It's recent, so hopefully I'll be able to run an update from it to the latest.

I liked Wool/Shift. It wasn't great literature, by any stretch of the imagination, but it was definitely entertaining. His later novels gotten better? (Some of the characterizations were a bit flat in the books I read.)

This is the first thing of his I've read/listened-to. It's a novella, and it's preeeetty tropey. I like the world he's built, but it's pretty-Y YA in terms of characters. Gay POV character still hasn't managed to tell his best friend he wants him, not the girl the friend thinks they're competing for - he just /oh so graciously/ gave her up, tho at least he did /comment/ that she should be the one deciding - and .. yeah. it started very much like the setup for lord of the flies, but it feels like he couldn't quite go through with it.
