Howso, less hostile to life? Is there some way to set up base conditions?

I generated a custom map. It's /entirely/ amplified Mesa biome. Huge canyons, no water, no trees. Also, no villages or temples. I seeded some trees and water around the spawn, but further out in the world, it's not very friendly. Very Martian, in fact.

The new world is just Amplified, so everything is very tall, but has normal biomes..

Man, one of these days I'll get the time to try this. You make it sound even more interesting than the snippets I see online.

It's really quite distressingly addictive. I'm not even doing any of the really clever stuff some people out there have done. But I /am/ programmatically building railways in the sky. Because I can.

In some ways I think that's why programming itself is addictive: you can build a complex set of rules, that then builds something else.

Sounds like a blast!
